21희망재단(이사장 변종덕)이 스테튼 아일랜드에 위치한 뉴욕노인복지회(회장 이광호)에 후원금 2천달러와 마스크 200장,
손세정제 한박스를 전달했다.
뉴욕노인복지회는 1995년 스테튼아일랜드상록회가 전신이다. 1997년 현재의 명칭으로 바뀐 후 750여명의 지역 한인노인
들을 위한 다양한 활동을 펼쳐 온 노인복지회는 최근 코로나 사태로 재정난을 겪어왔다. 현재 온라인으로 영어, 컴퓨터, 이
민 관련, 시민권교육 등의 업무를 지속해 오고 있다.
노인복지회 이광호회장은 “가장 어려운 때에 21희망재단이 지원해 준 기금으로 노인복지회의 활성화에 힘쓰겠다”고 밝혔
